Do
I have to have a valid e-mail address to enroll in Community
Empower?
Yes.
Many functions of our system require you to have a personal
e-mail address to receive the results. It is important that
you use a valid e-mail address because you will be receiving
important information at the e-mail address you provide. If
you do not currently have an e-mail address, you may apply for
a free e-mail account with services such as Yahoo! Mail or MSN
Hotmail. Or you may use the email address of a trusted friend
or relative.

I get
the error message: “field cannot contain special characters”,
what does this mean?
Because
we are requesting confidential credit information about you at your request,
the fields on our forms are syntax-sensitive.

Please do not use any special characters such as: !,@,#,$,%,^,&,*,(,)_,+,:,;,”,’,<,>
or ?.

Please refer to the syntax example shown in red below
each question. Specifically, this means that you do not
need to place a dollar sign or commas in the expense and
income figures.For monthly rent of six hundred and seventy
two dollars, type “672”, not---“$672”.Similarly, your birth date must be typed in this
format: MM/DD/YYYY, and your phone number must be typed:
XXX-XXX-XXXX.

What
are the system and browser compatibility requirements to use
Community Empower?
Our site is optimized to work best on Windows
using Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher. You can download the
latest version of Internet Explorer at http://www.microsoft.com.You
need to have your PC’s active X controls enabled and you should
allow pop-ups from our site (www.communityempower.com).

What
if I don’t know / don’t have a valid Social Security Number?
You must have a
valid Social Security Number to use Community Empower. Without
a valid Social Security Number, our system cannot pull your
credit report or create an analysis of your credit health or
financial position.

Why
do I have to create a login? What is this for?
You must create a login name and password in order to use Community
Empower’s online system. This enables our system to store your information in a
way that you can securely retrieve it in the future.
Note
about your login name and password:
Both must contain from 6-11 alphanumeric characters (no special
characters or spaces allowed.) Be sure to remember your login
name and password and keep it confidential. The reminder phrase
is a way for you to enter a word or phrase that will help you
remember your password if you forget.

I
get the error message: “An Error Occurred During Transaction”,
what do I do now?
This means there was an error in the data you
sent, or an error from Community Empower’s system. If the “Continue”
button does not work, try using your browser’s back button.
Review the data you input for errors and re-submit. If you still
get the same error message, call 800-362-6101 or 214-722-5800.
Important note: To avoid duplicate charges on your credit
card, be sure to press the submit button only once, and do not
use your browser’s back button when submitting your credit card
payment.
