Austin Area Community Empower
Program Creates First Time Homebuyers
Austin, Texas - Community Empower’s
first time home buyer program opened in Austin in January,
2005 and continues to attract new homebuyers. The program
candidates averaged 90 days in CE’s credit improvement
system before qualifying and closing on their new home.
Each homebuyer enrolled in the comprehensive online ScoreManager
program to prepare for the lending process. To date, 14
families have used the CE Network for the complete loan-to-home
process. An additional 110 candidates continue to use the
CE system to become loan-ready.
“Participating home
builders and Austin area real estate agents were a big part
of our success,” said Ed DeShields, CE’s President.
“They understood how our program worked and were great
partners in walking people through the process.”
Some fifty area builders
and real estate professionals received training in the CE
system and program specifications. This training and personal
contact with CE customers completed the cycle for many would-be
homeowners graduating from CE’s unique credit education
system.
First time home buyers may
apply online.
